Drag and drop on the Gantt chart

Move project bars directly on the Gantt chart by dragging them left or right to shift dates, or by dragging the edges to resize duration. Instead of opening an edit modal every time you need to adjust a timeline, you grab the bar and drop it where it needs to go.

Why this matters

The current workflow requires opening the edit modal, changing start/end dates manually, and saving. For any planning session where you're adjusting multiple projects back and forth, this is tedious. Drag and drop turns the Gantt into an interactive planning surface — the primary use case for a visual planner.

How it works

  • Move: Drag the center of a bar to shift both start and end dates by the same number of days. The bar snaps to the half-month grid.
  • Resize: Drag the left or right edge of a bar to extend or shorten the project duration independently.
  • Changes are saved automatically when you release (drop). An undo option appears briefly after each drag.
  • Drag and drop is only available while in Edit Mode — the same lock-based system that governs all edits.
