Managing Public Holidays

Overview

GanttForce lets you import official public holidays for your team's countries and manage custom non-working days. Holidays affect capacity planning — confirmed holidays are counted as non-working days when calculating how much each person can take on.

Opening Public Holidays

Go to Control Panel and select Public Holidays from the left sidebar.

Importing public holidays

GanttForce can automatically import public holidays for over 120 countries.

  1. Select a country from the dropdown (e.g. Serbia, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Montenegro).
  2. Select the year you want to import.
  3. Click ↓ Import holidays.

Imported holidays appear immediately in the 12-month calendar grid, grouped by month. Each holiday shows its name and a country flag.

You can import holidays for multiple countries — they coexist in the same calendar. Importing for one country does not remove holidays from another country. To switch between country views, use the country chips at the top of the page.

Adding custom non-working days

Use the form at the bottom of the page to add one-off non-working days that are specific to your workspace — for example, a company away day or an office closure.

  1. Select the month, day, and year.
  2. Optionally enter a reason (e.g. "Company offsite").
  3. Click + Add holiday.

Custom days are never overwritten when you re-import public holidays.

Removing imported holidays

To remove all automatically imported holidays for a specific country, select that country using the chip switcher and click Reset. Custom days are not affected.

Per-person country assignment

Each team member has a country assigned to their profile (set in Control Panel → Team). This determines which country's holidays appear as pending for that person on the Vacation page. A team member from Bosnia will see Bosnian holidays, not Serbian ones.

To update a person's country, go to Control Panel → Team, find the person, and change the Country field.
