Viewer accounts provide read-only access to a GanttForce workspace. Viewers can see the Gantt chart but cannot make any changes. There is no Edit Mode button for viewers.
An internal viewer sees the full workspace — all clients, all projects, and the Workforce panel with team names, expertise, and capacity data. Use this for internal team members who need to see the plan but should not edit it.
An external viewer sees a restricted version of the workspace. Their view is limited to the clients assigned to their account. The client filter in the header is locked — they cannot switch to see other clients. Use this for external stakeholders or clients who should only see their own projects.
| Feature | Internal Viewer | External Viewer |
|---|---|---|
| View Gantt chart | Yes | Yes (assigned clients only) |
| View Workforce panel | Yes | No |
| See team member names | Yes | No |
| See expertise data | Yes | No |
| Enter edit mode | No | No |
| Open Control Panel | No | No |
| Switch clients in header | Yes | No (locked) |
When creating or editing an External Viewer account, select one or more clients from the client list. The viewer will only see projects belonging to those clients. You can assign multiple clients to a single viewer.
From Workspace Settings, copy the viewer invite link and send it to the person you want to give access. They follow the link to create their account. The workspace admin assigns their viewer type and client visibility.
